💞 Holy Cow 🐄

Cows are amongst the gentlest of breathing
creatures; none show more passionate tenderness
to their young when deprived of them; and,
in short, I am not ashamed to profess a deep
love for these quiet creatures.

Thomas de Quincey

We know things about her that no one should
ever know, or want to know, about a fellow
being... the taste, texture and flavor of every
aspect of her despair, degradation and defeat.

We know every detail of what we have forced
her to be - an object to consume and excrete.
What we don't know, what we don't want to
know, is what we must know if we are
to restore our own humanity: who she is.

Joanna Lucas

If we could live happy and healthy lives
without harming others,
why wouldn't we?

Pam Ahern

Animals are my friends...

George Bernard Shaw

What we call love is in its essence
reverence for life.

Albert Schweitzer

Create all the happiness you are able to create;
remove all the misery you are able to remove.
Every day will allow you, will invite you to
add something to the pleasure of others,
or to diminish something of their pains.

Jeremy Bentham

To know even one life has breathed easier

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Animals have personalities like people.

in animals just as in humans.

I don't eat you anymore.

đŸ¶ Why Love One But Kill and Eat the Other? đŸ·

We send one species to the butcher and
give our love and kindness to another
apparently for no reason other than
because it's the way things are.

Melanie Joy

Jo Frederiks

Compassion towards animals is so natural to us,
that only through conditioning could we become
callous towards their suffering and death.

Leo Tolstoy

True compassion is not just an emotional
response but a firm commitment
founded on reason.

Dalai Lama

Animals are my friends...
and I don't eat my friends.

George Bernard Shaw

I wouldn't hurt a cat or a dog - or a chicken
or a cow. And I wouldn't ask someone else
to hurt them for me.

Peter Dinklage

The soul is the same in all living creatures,
although the body of each is different.

Hippocrates

In every living being there is the desire for love.
D.H. Lawrence

If you choose to eat animals…
 you love pets, not animals.

A man who lies to himself, and believes his own
lies becomes unable to recognize truth,
either in himself or in anyone else,
and he ends up losing respect
for himself and for others.

When he has no respect for anyone, he can
no longer love, and in order to divert himself,
having no love in him, he yields to impulses,
indulges in the lowest forms of pleasure.
And it all comes from lying -
lying to others and to yourself.

Fyodor Dostoevsky

My heart broke when I pictured my little dog
experiencing even a second of the pain and
fear that factory-farmed animals feel
their entire lives.

Nikki Glaser

The idea that some lives matter less is
the root of all that is wrong in the world.

Paul Farmer

Why should the law refuse its protection to any
sentient being? The time will come when
humanity will extend its mantle over
everyone who breathes.

Jeremy Bentham

Although I can't stop all cruelty to living
creatures on the planet, I can be kinder
to every living creature in my life.

River Phoenix

Love is life. All,
everything that I understand,
I understand only because I love.

Leo Tolstoy

The animal liberation movement is fighting
what is arguably the most entrenched
and widespread form of exploitation
in human history: speciesism.

Melanie Joy

Selective compassion is a deformity of the mind.
Mohanji

Human beings see oppression vividly
when they are the victims. Otherwise
they victimize blindly and without a thought.

Isaac Bashevis Singer

As custodians of the planet it is our responsibility
to deal with all species with kindness, love and
compassionWhat these animals suffer through
human cruelty is beyond understanding.
Please help to stop this madness.

Richard Gere

If you've ever loved a cat or a dog,
or even a human, I hope you'll extend
your compassion to include all animals.

War on Women

Before you think good or evil, who are you?
Huineng

Ultimately evil is done not so much by evil people,
but by good people who do not know themselves
and who do not probe deeply.

Reinhold Niebuhr

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt
the world to himself. Therefore all progress
depends on the unreasonable man.

George Bernard Shaw

I sometimes try to imagine what would have
happened if we'd known the bonobo first
and the chimpanzee only later - or not at all.
The discussion about human evolution might not
revolve as much around violence, warfare and
male dominance, but rather around sexuality,
empathy, caring and cooperation.

Frans de Waal

The arc of the moral universe is long,
but it bends towards justice.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

It is impossible to think of the welfare of
the world unless the condition of women
is improved. It is not possible for a bird
to fly on only one wing.

Swami Vivekananda

The number of people with any criteria for
distinguishing between good and evil
is very small.

T.S. Eliot

One's life has value so long as one attributes
value to the life of others, by means of love,
friendship, indignation and compassion.

Simone de Beauvoir

I think there is a connection between the way
we treat animals and the way we treat people
who are at the bottom of the hierarchy.

Angela Davis

The worst thing that we can do as women
is not stand up for each other, and this is
something we can practice every day,
no matter where we are and what we do
women sticking up for other women,
choosing to protect and celebrate each other
instead of competing or critizing each other.

Amal Clooney

The question is not whether we will be extremists,
but what kind of extremists we will be. For hate
or for love? For the preservation of injustice
or for the extension of justice?

Martin Luther King, Jr.

When I despair, I remember that all through
history the way of truth and love has always
won. There have been tyrants and murderers
and for a time they seem invincible, but in
the end they always fall... think of it, always.

Open Your Eyes

Ignorance is not a simple lack of knowledge
but an active aversion to knowledge,
the refusal to know, issuing from cowardice,
pride or laziness of mind.

Karl Popper

Jo Frederiks

The meat industry spends hundreds of millions of
dollars lying to the public about their product.
But no amount of false propaganda can
sanitise meat. The facts are absolutely clear.
Eating animals is bad for human health,
catastrophic for the environment and
a living nightmare for animals.

Chrissie Hynde

Consciously or subconsciously, it is with
deliberation that we do not know or fail
to understand - because incomprehension
allows us, with good conscience, to evade
unpleasant responsibilites, because
ignorance is the best excuse for going on
doing what one likes, but ought not, to do.

Aldous Huxley

Most people are not seeking truth - they are
searching for comfort in illusions.

Friedrich Nietzsche

As with any violent ideology, the populace must
be shielded from direct exposure to the victims,
lest they begin questioning the system or their
participation in it. This truth speaks for itself:
why else would the meat industry go to such
lengths to keep its practices invisible?

Melanie Joy

We live in imaginary, virtual worlds created by
corporations that profit from our deception.

Chris Hedges

Truth has to be repeated constantly,
because Error also is being preached all the time,
and not just by a few, but by the multitude. In
the Press, Encyclopaedias, in Schools and
Universities, everywhere Error holds sway,
feeling happy and comfortable in
the knowledge of having Majority on its side.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Truth never damages a cause that is just.
Mahatma Gandhi

The truth is that people are brainwashed into
thinking that it's normal to consume animals.
They are so uncomfortable with confronting
what happens to those animals because
they are part and parcel of that cruelty.

Juliet Gellatley

Unless and until you are prepared to look
at the whole truth; and wherever it may go,
if you want to look the other way or
if you want to play favourites, then
somewhere along the line you're going to
find out that you're messing with divine justice.

Jordan Maxwell

COMFORTABLE LIES

Without ever committing an act of outright
evil ourselves, we collude with it
through our own apathy.

J.K. Rowling

What an amount of suffering the poor creatures
have to endure in order to give a few moments
of pleasure to men devoid of thought.

Albert Schweitzer

If slaughterhouses had glass walls,
everyone would be vegetarian.

Paul McCartney

Think occasionally of the suffering of which
you spare yourself the sight.

Albert Schweitzer

To examine whether something is 'humane',
first determine if you whether you
would want it done to you.

Andrea Kladar

The horrifying things that are happening
to animals in order for you to keep
eating meat is inhuman.

Lewis Hamilton

I have seen firsthand how injustice
gets overlooked when the victims are
powerless or vulnerable, when they have
no one to speak up for them and no means of
representing themselves to higher authority.
Animals are in precisely that position.
Unless we speak out on their behalf,
abuse and cruelty goes unchallenged.

Desmond Tutu

There is no right way to do the wrong thing.
Harold S. Kushner

Recognize meat for what it really is:
the antibiotic- and pesticide-laden
corpse of a tortured animal.

Ingrid Newkirk

When the suffering of another creature causes
you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial
desire to flee from the suffering one, but
on the contrary, come closer, as close
as you can to him who suffers,
and try to help.

Leo Tolstoy

No man chooses evil because it is evil;
he only mistakes it for happiness,
the good he seeks.

Mary Wollstonecraft

Transform Yourself 🩋

Before, my role model was the vision

of the woman I wanted to become.

Then I became that woman.

Diane von FĂŒrstenberg

Act the way you'd like to be and soon
you'll be the way you act.

Leonard Cohen

To become the person you aspire to be,
develop the habits of that person.

Bille Cristiane Temanel

There is but one solution to the intricate riddle
of life; to improve ourselves, and contribute
to the happiness of others.

Mary Shelley

1. Prepare: Internal dialogue & mindset.
2. Plan: Set goals.
3. Purge: Internal & external.
4. Provide.

Change your opinions, keep to your principles;
change your leaves, keep intact to your roots.

Victor Hugo

Great things are not done by impulse, but
by a series of small things brought together.

Vincent Van Gogh

Learn from yesterday, live for today and hope
for tomorrow. The important thing is not
to stop questioning.

Albert Einstein

We change the world not by what we say or do
but as a consequence of what we have become.

David R. Hawkins

A seed grows with no sound, but a tree falls
with a huge noise. Destruction has noise,
but creation is quiet.

Confucius

Ja visst gör det ont nÀr knoppar brister.
Varför skulle annars vÄren tveka?
Varför skulle all vÄr heta lÀngtan

đŸ”ȘFrom Slaughter to Sanctuary ❤️

We are all better off in a sanctuary
instead of in a slaughterhouse.

Gene Baur

I expected to find monsters.
But I found something far more terrifying.
I found how easily humans can be
conditioned to do monstrous things.

Bobby Sud

Jyoti Chauhan

The line separating good and evil passes
not through states, nor between political

every human heart.

Am I not destroying my enemies
when I make friends of them?

Abraham Lincoln

I greet you from the other side
of sorrow and despair,
with a love so vast and shattered
it will reach you everywhere.

Leonard Cohen

Would this habit of eating animals not require
that we slaughter animals that we knew
as individuals, and in whose eyes
we could gaze and see ourselves reflected,
only a few hours before our meal?

Socrates

Your legacy is every life you've ever touched.
Maya Angelou

The secret of change is to focus all of
your energy, not on fighting the old,
but on building the new.

Socrates

There are two ways through life:
the way of Nature and the way of Grace.
You have to decide which one you'll follow.

Terrence Malick

Human beings are not machines,
and however powerful the pressure to conform,
they sometimes are so moved by what
they see as injustice that they dare
to declare their independence.
In that historical possibility lies hope.

Howard Zinn

By killing, man suppresses in himself,
unnecessarily, the highest spiritual capacity,
that of sympathy and pity towards living
creatures like himself, and by violating
his own feelings becomes cruel.

Leo Tolstoy

He who sows the seed of murder and pain
cannot reap joy and love.

Pythagoras

As long as man continues to be the ruthless
destroyer of other living beings he will never
know health or peace. For as long as men
massacre animals, they will kill each other.

Pythagoras

As long as people will shed the blood of innocent
creatures there can be no peace, no liberty,
no harmony between people.
Slaughter and justice cannot dwell together.

Isaac Bashevis Singer

For to be free is not merely to cast off
one's chains, but to live in a way
that respects and enhances
the freedom of others.
